Phase 2 - Field House - More Funds Needed

On Sept. 1, 2023, Phase 1 improvements that replaced the stadium lights, added a Turf field and a new 8 Lane Track were inaugurated!!!  NOW, Phase 2 brings a Field House at the Stadium to hold Home/Away Team Rooms, Trainers Room, Ticket booth, Equipment Storage and much need additional bathrooms...   It's what our donations can make it!! Right now the BOE has $350,000 toward this Phase and State of Maryland has added another $250,000 to the 2024/2025 budget to be approved next month.   So that...

WCPS Green Lights Boosters Stadium Renovation Project 2/7/23

Leopards get Turf!!!!

SHS Booster Club has raised ~90% of the funds required to install the new Artifitical Turf Field, new 8-Lane Track, new LED lights and moving Scoreboard!! Over $2M dollars raised with Private donors and Booster fundraising, along with great support from our County & State Government(s).    Local contractor, Huntzberry Brothers, was low bidder and will break ground in next 2-3 weeks in order for field to be ready for Fall Sports yet this year.

Golf Tourney raises $50,000

(61) teams packed the Beaver Creek Country Club on June 25th, 2021 for a sunny day of golf. (30) volunteers made sure the event was a huge success and raised just over $50,000 from Sponsors and Golf Teams. (6) Raffles of Golf Bags and Wine baskets, along with (1) weeks condo rental in Hilton Head, SC. Long drive, closest to the pin, chipping and putting contests all saw a variety of winners. Stadium Fund Donation efforts ramp back UP!!!

So far in 2021, the Smithsburg Athletic Boosters Club (SABC) has resigned the expiring MOU with the Board of Education (BOE) to partner in order to expediate updates to the SHS Stadium and Athletic Fields.  In this new multi-million dollar agreement, SABC has tabled the construction of the Locker Rooms & Concession stand due to COVID impacts and potential new regulations forthcoming dictating its design and use.  The BOE is holding $350,000 toward future construction of these (2) buildings.

The Covid Virus did NOT stop the Smithsburg Boosters Steam and Craft show committee, only required a temporary location change and lots of "out of the box" planning! Event had its 46th Anniversary in 2020 and after expenses, raised $36,500 for Smithsburg Athletics!!!! The event saw lots of old faces but an astounding amount of new familes ventured in to try some Leopard Stew!  We hope 2021 will allow us to be BACK in downtown Smithsburg to host the 47th rendition of this great event to benefit...
